Capitola & Santa Cruz, CA Summer Vacation

My family and I went to Capitola and Santa Cruz California in August 2018. We stayed there for 3 days and then went to Southern California for 2 days. We had so much fun staying in both places because of their beautiful beaches, good restaurants and places to take pictures.

When we got to Capitola, we went to lunch before checking in to the hotel. After checking in to the hotel, around 4pm, we went to the beach.  The parking lot was full, but luckily we found a parking spot right away. We stayed at the beach for an hour just watching the sunset while our daughter played in the sand.

The hotel where we stayed was close to the stores in the area. Whenever we needed to buy something, it was just walking distance.

The next day, we went to the beach in Santa Cruz. This time, we set up a tent and ate snacks while we enjoyed the beautiful view and the weather. We stayed there for several hours. Later that day, we went to the boardwalk but didn’t ride on any rides because we thought we would have more time to spend there the next day.

On our 3rd day, we went to the same places but this time finished with a special dinner at the Shadowbrook restaurant. The Shadowbrook is located in Capitola and it’s really one of the best places to visit in the area. What amazed me the most besides their food and ambiance was the gondola (it looks like a small train to me) that goes up and down taking customers to the restaurant.  But if you want to get some exercise you can take the stairs and take photos at the same time.

Anyhow, here are some of the photos we took on our trip.

  2. Wow! Great Imagery! San Fran is my favorite US city, and Santa Cruz was the 1st beach I'd ever seen as an adult. There's something very special & magical about the region of California. This post just brought so many of those memories back for me. Thanks
